Austin is originally from Macon Georgia. He started using drugs in his early teens, and by the time he was in college had become addicted to opiates. After quitting soccer and then dropping out of college, Austin was in a cycle of addiction and self-destruction. At 25 years old, his life had completely fallen apart – he felt hopeless, and believed he had no future.
After many failed attempts at recovery, Austin finally came to the end of himself. In 2019 he decided to enter Waypoint Regeneration Program, and after graduating the Servant Leadership Program God called him to join Waypoint’s staff. Today Austin says, “God has molded me to have a passion to serve and help men to find freedom from addiction.” He is currently working on his Addiction Counseling certification and has returned to college working on a degree from Southwest Bible College. God has also reignited Austin’s passion for sports, and in his off-time he enjoys going to CrossFit and being in the outdoors.

Favorite Verse: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” – Isaiah 55:8–11
