Rick began his journey with Waypoint Ministry upon entering the program for his own substance abuse problem. He turned to drugs and alcohol when he was a teen shortly after the sudden unexpected death of his father. Rick abused drugs through his teenage years and his twenties. Late one evening he was in his vehicle, broken and without hope. He began to pray and ask God for help. God answered. The following day Rick heard about Waypoint Ministry from a family member. One week later, he entered Waypoint Ministry. After graduating from the Regeneration program and the Servant Leadership Program, Rick became a staff member at Waypoint. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry from Southwest Bible College.
Rick is married to his wonderful wife Hannah, and he is the father of two beautiful girls. Rick realized that when he was addicted, he had no true concept of who he was in God. Now, knowing who he is, and what his purpose is, he longs to give life to others so they may experience complete freedom from addiction.
