Why consider Waypoint Ministry?

Too many recovery programs miss the mark with a purely clinical approach or price tag that excludes those who need their help the most. And although we understand how expensive it is to operate any residential space like ours, we also believe you deserve another option.

Our unique approach combines the tangible skills every man in recovery needs, all within a faith-based residential environment that provides deeper meaning that leads to lasting change. We have affordable program fees and even offer scholarships to eligible men and their families who desperately want help, but simply cannot afford it.

Over the course of twelve months, every man at Waypoint walks through a regenerative program that covers everything from inner healing and biblical teaching to practical steps to break addiction. Our goal? Help men overcome addiction and successfully reintegrate into the lives of their community, family, and loved ones.

The application process

Unlike many other recovery programs, the most important criteria for admittance into Waypoint Ministry is a sincere desire to change accompanied by a grateful attitude for the opportunity. We review each application and conduct an interview to ensure our program is the right fit and something you can commit to. Even though we are compelled by our faith in Jesus, we want to assure every applicant that this is not a prerequisite for your acceptance. We believe that faith is an integral part of finding deeper meaning that leads to lasting change. Hopefully, this becomes your experience as well.

We believe that clarity is important, which is why we want you to know that an interview does not equal admittance. We are committed to fostering an environment that leads to lasting change which means we cannot allow anyone currently under the influence of drugs or alcohol into our program. If detox is required, this needs to be done by a medical facility first before proceeding. We recognize how incredibly frustrating this time is. We thank you in advance for your grace. We are committed to your success and will do everything in our power to serve you.

Family visitations and recovery

For every man who walks through our doors, we recognize even more family, friends, and loved ones are also embarking on a journey toward healing too. Addiction is a disease and the relationships in a man’s life are a vital component to his recovery. Our primary focus is centered on equipping each and every man with the tools, skills, and resources he needs to find freedom. Even though it looks different, we are equally committed to serving the loved ones who are walking alongside them.

What does this look like? We are glad you asked. There is nothing quite like the helpless feeling of wanting to see someone thrive, but not being able to make it happen. We recognize that families care deeply for the men here at Waypoint. That’s exactly why we offer these resources for them too.

Family Recovery Process

Families spend time with others in the same position and learn skills together that will lead to lasting change for everyone. Led by our staff, we guide them through a process that provides insight into his journey and a glimpse into the future they are both working toward.

Family Visitations

One of the most anticipated times on his schedule will be family visitations. We curate these moments so that they turn into beneficial times of reconnection for everyone involved. Men are not allowed visits for the first thirty days while here at Waypoint, and we have compiled a Family Resource Guide to walk you through the details of scheduling a visit and how to make the time together fruitful.

Servant Leadership Training Phase

Graduating from our twelve-month regeneration program comes with a variety of opportunities. For those who choose to not immediately return home or re-enter the workplace, we extend offers to qualifying men to join our Servant Leadership Training Phase (SLT).

This is not a convenient way to avoid re-entry back into the real world, but rather the right option for someone who is firmly on the road to recovery and now wants to use his gifts and abilities to serve other men just entering the family here at Waypoint. It’s an opportunity to give back, assume various leadership roles, and put everything he has learned into practice.

Many men spend a year searching for healing and finding out who they are not, and end up also finding a call to ministry. This is one of our paths to help steward that call well as they find out who they are in Christ.

Don't miss your opportunity for change

Each and every day we get calls from men and their families asking for help. They’re at the end of their rope. This feels like their last shot to get things right. That’s exactly why Waypoint Ministry exists.

Recovering from addiction is hard. We get it.

Our graduates and even many staff are walking testaments to the impact of this program, having gone through this process themselves. We utilize a holistic framework that combines tangible skills for life change with a deep faith that gives men a reason to finally make change stick.

If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction, I know how frustrating it is. You need a place you can turn to. Let’s overcome addiction together and replace it with restoration and hope for the future.

Waypoint made a difference for them

"I arrived at Waypoint with 4 DUI's, a marriage on the rocks, and a cycle of addiction I clearly couldn't fix by myself. My time here brought me in close proximity to Jesus and a team who helped me walk through a deeper journey of change that I wasn't equipped to do alone. Today, by God's grace, I've learned the difference between my past and what He's calling into my future."

Mike

"My life was a wreck. I had lost my kids, family, home, and everything I loved. Desperate, I reached out to my sister who introduced me to Waypoint Ministry. Here, God's transformed my mess into a message. And you know ... life is still pretty hard at times, but now I'm equipped with the tools and life-changing relationship with my Savior that's going to see me through."
